The Town of Essex is asking their citizens to weigh-in on the priorities of the municipality with the launch of a community survey.

The results of the survey will feed into the ongoing strategic planning process, which sets out the long-term plans for the new term of Council.

“In a complex and busy world, strategic plans serve as an important reminder of where we want to go as an organization and as a community,” said Mayor Larry Snively. “As individual councillors we all have our own priorities, but this is an opportunity to come together and identify the broader goals we want to achieve. Incorporating feedback from the community is a critical part of that process.”

The 5 to 10 minute survey will garner feedback from citizens on what they most enjoy about living in Town, as well as what can be improved. It also asks respondents to identify their top three strategic priorities.

The community survey is available online at www.essex.ca/StrategicPlan.

Paper copies will also be available at the Town’s recreation facilities (Essex Centre Sports Complex, Essex Recreation Complex, and the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre). Completed paper copies can be submitted at those locations or dropped off/mailed to Essex Town Hall, 33 Talbot Street South, Essex Centre.

Submissions will be accepted until Sunday, May 12th at 4pm.
