Five people were sent to hospital after a crash on the 401 over the weekend.

OPP say it happened around 6pm on Sunday, March 24th, 2019 in the eastbound lanes between Highway 40 and Kent Bridge Road in Chatham.

They say that a vehicle travelling east, lost control and left the highway entering the south ditch and rolled over.

All five adult occupants in the vehicle were transported to hospital, one being airlifted from the scene having suffered life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
