Police in Amherstburg are sending out a reminder to lock up your valuables after an incident in the town.
Police say that on January 31st, 2017 they took a report of a theft from a garage on Brush Street where an impact driver, along with a snow blower had been taken.
They say that it is believed that entry was gained into the garage through an unlocked side door. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime during the previous week.
A neighbour also reported that they had found their exterior garage door partially opened one morning during the same period with no items reported missing.
Residents are reminded that the best deterrent to these types of thefts is a locked door.
Police stress to make sure that you are locking your vehicles, garages, barns, and homes, along with anything else of value to prevent your items from being easily taken.
