The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation is looking for the generosity and giving spirit of the community to help over 800 families this Christmas season.
They are looking for volunteers to do the shopping form a provided wish list. In addition, they are also looking for cash donations to be used towards gift purchases. Charitable receipts are provided for financial donations. The average cost of sponsoring a family is $300.
The annual Holiday Program of the Children’s Aid Foundation has made the Yuletide Season a special time for families for over twenty five years.
“As I was looking around the dinner table with the holidays drawing near, gazing at the laughter and joy of my children, I was filled with thanks for all that we have. We started talking about when I was growing up. My sisters and I didn’t have a lot, especially at Christmas. I shared with them about how the Children’s Aid sponsored us one magical Christmas. The memories of coming down those stairs and seeing a tree and gifts where the evening before there was nothing still brings tears to my eyes. As we continued to talk, my son indicated that he would love to do this to help another family who may not be as fortunate as we are today. With the holiday’s upon us, we are looking forward to touching the lives of a family much as mine was so many years ago,” said Tiffany who received support from the program some years ago.
