The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is set to kick off the holiday season with its 5th annual Winter Fest this Saturday, November 19th.
The Culinary School at St. Clair College’s Centre for the Arts will be selling scrumptious fried pastries covered in either vanilla or cinnamon sugar fashioned after Quebec’s famous Beaver Tails for only $3 each. The pastry stand will be located at the intersection of Ouellette and University Avenues between 2pm and 4pm.
Another seasonal treat to be found is that of roasted chestnuts. Visit the Downtown Mission’s booth at the intersection of University and Ouellette and grab a bag of your own.
The parade kicks off at 3pm at Giles Avenue heading up Ouellette and ending at Pitt Street.
The parade’s grand marshal will be Martha Reeves and will include over 45 entries including inflatables, enchanting Chinese dragons, Elvis’ Rockin’ Sleigh Ride, the Windsor Dance eXperience, in addition to the Windsor Police Pipe Band, Windsor Youth Optimist Band, the Salvation Army Band and the Diplomats Drum & Bugle Corps.
The DWIBA is also reminding youth to bring their letters to Santa as Canada Post will be there to mail them to Jolly Ole St. Nick!
