Several students at the University of Windsor have gone homeless.
From Thursday November 3rd to Saturday November 5th members of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity are living on campus, just outside the Leddy Library in a shack constructed entirely from discarded materials including cardboard, tarps, twine, and wooden pallets.
This annual event draws attention to the struggles faced by those affected by homelessness, poverty & unemployment in the city of Windsor to students at the University.
The fraternity is accepting donations of cash, clothing, and non-perishable food items which will be directly donated to the Downtown Mission.
During the event last year they were able to surpass the average with a collection of over $2,600 in donations.
Due to the increased need for expanding support at the Downtown Mission the fraternity is looking to raise at least $1,500 this year.
