Unifor And Ford Reach Deal

There is a deal between Unifor and Ford.

The official announcement was made at 12:25am, almost a half hour after the strike deadline.

Unifor President Jerry Dias says the new four year deal has been unanimously recommend by all bargaining committees.

As part of the new contract, a major engine program has been secured for Essex Engine, an investment worth $700 million.

Windsor Engine will build the 6.8 litre engine for the life of the agreement.

Dias also said the deal gives Ford workers monetary gains over and above the pattern agreement.

The ratification process will take place this weekend.
