Damage is set at $150,000 after a fire in Amherstburg.
Fire officials say it broke out on Gore Road around 6am.
When fire crews arrived they found heavy smoke and fire conditions on the second floor.
It took over an hour to bring it under control.
The fire originated in rear main floor room, but the exact cause has not been released.
A working smoke alarm alerted the sleeping resident, who was able to escape unharmed.
