LaSalle Police promise a “presence” at Villanova High School Wednesday morning.
This comes after two days of strike action by the boards 370 custodians, maintenance workers, secretaries, campus ministers, and information technology employees caused lengthy delays and prevented teachers from getting to the school on time for classes.
Picketers have been stopping each teacher vehicle from entering for five minutes, causing up to 50 cars to be backed up along the side of the road. Students and buses are being let onto school property with no delays.
In a statement the school says “Our teachers have been told to expect delays and have been asked to arrive at school early, but are still being held up for unreasonable amounts of time. We are consulting with local authorities and are trying to impress upon them that picketers are interrupting valuable instructional time. We hope to have this situation resolved soon, and ask for your continued patience and support throughout this matter.”
Traffic issues have been reported at several other catholic schools as well.
