The mayor of Tecumseh has declared an emergency for the town.

More than 190 mm of rain has fallen in Tecumseh since 9pm on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 with additional rainfall amounts of 40-70 mm expected.

The town says that all pumps and pumping stations continue to operate at maximum capacity.

Emergency services request drivers stay off the roads, where possible, and take caution while driving through flooded areas.

Residents are advised to contact their insurance company regarding basement flooding.

Please do not call 911 for basement flooding, visit www.tecumseh.ca to submit information on impacts to residences.
