With the last weekend of the summer vacation season, here is a look at which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, August 31st, 2016:
Swimming is not recommended at Cedar Island Beach, Colchester Beach, Point Pelee West Beach, Sandpoint Beach and West Belle River Beach.
