Cleanup continues after yesterday’s flooding in East Windsor.

The City of Windsor’s 311 Call Centre will be open this Saturday morning, October 1st, 2016 from 8am to 1pm to hear from any remaining residents who have yet to call about their flooded basements.

The city says 311 staff have been inundated with calls of flooding since Thursday, and the call centre operated four extra hours Thursday night. So far they report that more than 2400 calls have come in with over 1500 directly related to flooding.

All city pumping stations continue to operate at capacity and most flooded areas have receded, but with more rain in the forecast, the potential for further issues remains. Homeowners are asked to do their part by using water sparingly during any rain periods.

The city is also planning a special garbage collection for flood damaged materials late next week. Full details are still being planned and more information will be released on Monday.

Homeowners with insurance are reminded to contact their insurance companies before removing anything.
