Weekend Beach Report: Two Beaches Closed, Swimming Not Recommended At Six Others

Every Friday windsoriteDOTca will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.

Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.

Based on samples taken Wednesday, July 6th, 2016:

Cedar and Holiday Beaches are closed as E.coli counts exceed 1000.

Swimming is not recommended at West Belle River, Point Pelee West, Seacliff, Mettawas, Cedar Island and Colchester Beaches as E.coli counts exceed 100.
