The University of Windsor is re-naming the former Patricia Road to Alistair MacLeod Walk.
Professor MacLeod taught English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor for more than three decades, and the campus was a vital part of his life and the life of his family. He passed away on April 20th, 2014.
Stretching from the Stephen and Vicki Adams Welcome Centre to the Leddy Library, Alistair MacLeod Walk will be a tribute to one of University’s most acclaimed scholars. It will also be a permanent reminder of the importance of literature and the humanities to a University, and of the power of creativity and the written word to guide us on our own personal journeys.
In the Fall semester, as will be done for Turtle Island Walk, there will be an official event to unveil signage to name Alistair MacLeod Walk.
