Construction on Erie Street North in Harrow between Clark Street and County Road 20 gets underway this week.
Work will include the installation of a new water main, fire hydrants, storm sewers and road reconstruction.
In addition, the road will be enhanced with curbs and gutters, a sidewalk on the west side and a 3-metre multi-directional, multi-use active transportation trail on the east side.
“The project is designed to provide safe passage for active transportation users,” says Chris Nepszy, Director of Infrastructure and Development. “This section of Erie Street will provide the last and final link connecting the Chrysler Greenway to the Dunn Road cycle route to Colchester Centre.”
When complete, this north/south active transportation corridor, part of the County Wide Active Transportation (CWATS) plan, will link the City of Windsor to the wine routes and Lake Erie at Colchester.
The construction period is expected to last about 12 weeks.
