The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says housing starts for the Windsor-Essex area jumped in February compared to February, 2015, one year ago.
This past February there were a total of 55 new starts compared to 11, one year ago.
Overall, housing starts have doubled this year compared with the same period in 2015.
Builders have started 93 new homes in Windsor this year, compared with 45 in 2015.
