Firefighters briefly shut down Wyandotte Street East in Walkerville after a gas line was struck during construction work.

Fire crews were called around 1:15pm to Wyandotte between Gladstone and Lincoln to find natural gas spewing from a broken meter.

Firefighters managed to shut the gas off and within a few minutes the road was reopened.
