The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has reached a tentative agreement with its educational assistants, child and youth workers, paraprofessionals, and early childhood educators.
“These employees play a critical role in maintaining the inclusive atmosphere that we have created in our schools,” Executive Superintendent of Human Resources Terry Lyons said . “We believe this new agreement will provide them with fair compensation, while respecting the need to responsibly manage our resources and continuing to care for some of our most vulnerable students.”
The agreements were reached after several weeks of bargaining with Locals 1358.1 and 1358.2 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represent about 400 employees of the Board.
Terms of the agreement will not be available until after it is ratified.
