Windsor City Council is looking to move forward with the expropriation of the last two homes at the Airport.

The assessed value of the one property was $166,000, while the assessed value second property was $127,000.  Both properties total 4 acres.

City administration says they wish to take ownership of the properties for future development needs of the airport lands, but City Planner Thom Hunt said there are “no imminent plans for development.”

A lawyer for one homeowner Rosemary Tako, who has lived in one of the homes since the 80’s, asked that if the city decides to go forward with the expropriation, that she be able to lease back her house and be able to live there for as long as possible.

The city and her lawyers will now meet to see if an agreement can be reached.
