If your New Year’s Resolution is to stop smoking, then the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit can help you.
The have partnered with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health to offer a program called STOP on the Road. The program includes a 1-hour information workshop and five weeks of free nicotine patches.
Nicotine replacement therapies like the nicotine patch have been shown to almost double your chances of quitting and help to ease withdrawal symptoms like cravings. In addition to the patch, workshop participants will receive educational material and learn about relapse prevention strategies to help them quit for good. An overview of other unhealthy lifestyle factors that are known to accompany smoking will also be provided.
Several workshops are planned for January and February.
Registration opens on January 5th, 2016 at 8:3am and space in these workshops is limited.
