Ronald McDonald House has opened a new Information Place inside a storefront at Tecumseh Mall.
The new space has been set up to serve as a one-stop shop for Information about the new Ronald McDonald House, which is coming to Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus in Spring 2016.
The Information Place is open during select mall hours, and staffed by volunteers ready to answer questions about what the new House will be like – and ways to get involved. The storefront will also serve as a meeting space for volunteer information sessions in the coming months.
“We’re thrilled to have this great location to use while we’re under construction, “ said Margaret Anderson, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario. “The Windsor community has given us such a huge warm welcome, and we want to make sure to keep everyone informed and engaged as we work quickly to get the House ready for families.”
In addition, in front of the storefront, they have set up a comfy seating area as an example of the type of comfort they will be providing inside Ronald McDonald House Windsor.
The Information Place also features design plans, construction photos and informational brochures for visitors to take with them.
“We are honoured to support the Windsor Regional Hospital in introducing The Ronald McDonald House to Windsor/Essex County,” said Debra McVeety, Director, Specialty Leasing/General Manager, Tecumseh Mall. “Tecumseh Mall has always been a community and family focused shopping centre. When we learned that the Ronald McDonald House was coming to our city, we were delighted to help in any way. Ronald McDonald House Windsor will provide a safe, comforting environment, where families can feel at home while they focus on the needs of their children in care. “This is an important project for Windsor /Essex County, and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
Regular store hours at the Information Place are on Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm to 7pm, Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and on Sundays from 11am to 3pm.
