Amherstburg firefighters made quick work of a small barn fire Monday evening.
Fire crews were called to the barn located in the 8400 block of Howard Avenue just before 8pm and had the fire out 20 minutes later.
None of the estimated 150 chickens were injured.
Officials say that an electric coil wrapped around water pipes to prevent freezing ignited nearby hay.
Damage is estimated at $3,000.
