If traveling up the 401 is in the plans for Monday, then you will need to plan for extra travel time.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch for much of Southwestern and Southern Ontario, with the exception of Windsor and Chatham.
They say that a storm from Texas will cause snow, ice pellets, and blowing snow to develop Monday afternoon then change to freezing rain Monday evening. Easterly winds will gust to 70 km/h. The freezing rain will persist several hours before changing to rain overnight.
Poor travel conditions will develop Monday afternoon and continue into Monday night. Power outages will also be possible beginning Monday evening.
Back here at home, they say we can expect ice pellets beginning near noon then changing to rain late in the afternoon. There is also a risk of freezing rain in the afternoon. Ice pellet amount 2 cm.
On Tuesday we can expect rain showers all day.
