A local man will be recognized for his actions at a crash scene in 2012.

Back on November 27th, 2012 a crash occurred on the E.C. Row Expressway near Huron Church Road. While OPP were investigating the incident one of the drivers of the vehicle collapsed and was vitial signs absent.

An OPP officer immediately began to administer first aid and CPR. It was then that Roy Crema, who was working in the area with the Windsor Parkway Project noticed the collapsed man. He immediately began to provide CPR, freeing up the OPP officer, allowing him to summons assistance from EMS.

Unfortunately the 74-year-old man suffered a heart attack following the crash, and passed away in Hospital hours later.

On Thursday at the Tecumseh Police Service Board Meeting,  Crema will be receiving the Commissioner’s Citation for Lifesaving,  a Life Saving Certificate from the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, a Life Saving Pin and the St. John Life Saving Pin.
