Sky watchers across Windsor and Essex County caught photos of what’s coined as a Super Blood Moon, Sunday evening.
The #SuperBloodMoon was a combination of a super moon – which occurs when the moon is closest to the orbit of the earth – and a lunar eclipse, when the earth stands in the way of the sun.
The extra-large moon was 14 percent larger and thirty percent brighter than usual, and when combined with the eclipse, formed a rare phenomenon that hadn’t taken place since 1982, and won’t reoccur until 2033.
