It is the final weekend of summer vacation, and it looks to be a hot one.
windsoriteDOTca will continue to provide beach reports every Friday into September. We will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples testing for E.coli bacteria are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015:
Results indicate that West Belle River, Point Pelee Northwest, Seacliffe, Mettawas, Colchester, and Holiday beaches are posted as bacterial counts exceed 100.
Cedar Beach is closed this week as bacterial counts exceed 1000.
