Over 600 people streamed into normally-closed Assumption Church on Windsor’s west side, Saturday afternoon.
The Catholic Diocese of London permitted the church to be open for only three hours during the parish’s Feast Of The Assumption Of Mary.
Assumption was ordered closed by the diocese last fall and masses have been held at the former Holy Name of Mary church on McEwan Street ever since.
There are no current plans to permanently reopen the nearly 200 year old church building.
