Windsor Police are investigating after a 2-year-old was hit by a car in west Windsor, Thursday afternoon.

It happened just after 3pm at the intersection of Brock Street and Baby Street.

Police said the boy had very serious injuries.

Police spoke to several witnesses and located the 81 year old female driver of the 2003 yellow Pontiac Sunfire involved in the accident.

Investigation revealed that the Pontiac was travelling south in the 500 block of Brock Street when the child suddenly came out onto the roadway.

The two year old boy was brought to Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus by ambulance to be examined and treated.

He was then brought to Detroit Mercy Children’s Hospital for treatment.
