Funding Announced For Area Legions

Five branches of the Royal Canadian Legion saw funding Friday for a variety of projects.
Branch 143 on Marentette Avenue will receive $66,000 to put towards the replacement of the main sewer drain, their roof top furnace, and repairing of the flat roof. Total cost of that project is $132,000.
The Walkerville & East Windsor Branch 12 will see $16,775 for the renovation of the Royal Canadian Legion Walkerville & East Windsor Branch building. Total cost of the project is $36,700.
Branch 399 in Belle River will see $12,032 to go towards repairing and replacement work to the front steps to the building and to repave the existing parking lot. Total cost for the project is $37,131.
The Riverside Branch 255 will receive $13,362 for the repair of heating and cooling systems. The total cost is $26,725.
Branch 261 in Tecumseh will receive $75,020 to put towards the replacement of roof on the Legion building, which is estimated to cost $75,020.
