ShopEco, Windsor’s only dedicated store for eco-friendly products, offering a wide selection of all-natural cosmetics, personal care products, candles, cleaners and more, has teamed up with Teanna Lindsay Events, coordinators of the Night Market Series, to create Windsor’s Premier All-Natural Beauty Expo, on Saturday May 23rd, 2015, from 10am to 5pm at the newly renovated Water’s Edge Events Centre.

The event will feature a dozen vendors showcasing all-natural products, featuring ShopEco, Faerhaven, Cocoon Apothecary, Ikove, Amal, Solace, and more. A full speaker series is planned throughout the day, including keynote speaker Jessica Burman, of Kitchener-based skin care company Cocoon Apothecary (speaking on The Benefits of Natural Skin Care), as well as many other experts in the industry.

The Green is Beautiful Expo will not only feature products and services, but will also include a fashion show, in partnership with fashion blogger Shauna Dean of Quentin & Co as the stylist and host. The Fashion Show will display eco-friendly, consignment, and vintage clothing from local favourites such as Freeds, P.R.A.Y. Boutique, Rhyan’s Mess, Group Hug Apparel, Penny Jane’s, Urban Surf Company, and Envy Boutique.

“When it comes to wellness, green beauty usually gets second billing, while nutrition takes centre stage. But given that we’re all using anywhere from 8 to 25 cosmetic products each day, and that some ingredients in these products are absorbed into our bodies, this is an issue that deserves our attention,” explains Debra Purdy, owner of ShopEco. “With this event, I want to give natural beauty products the spotlight for once, and bring awareness to the positive impact they can have on our appearance and on our health.”

The Green is Beautiful Expo is at the end of The Cleanse, which hundreds of Windsorites are currently participating in. The Expo is the closing event of Cleanse Week, intended as a celebration for those who participated and an opportunity for those who are curious about natural beauty products but may not know quite where to start.

Guests can enjoy vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free cuisine provided by Carrorts N’ Dates, one of Windsor’s most beloved restaurants.
