Residents in Chatham, Tilbury, Blenheim and Wheatley will soon be able to get fresh local produce delivered directly to their homes or workplaces.
Much like the days of the milk man, Lee & Maria’s Delivery will be delivering local produce to doorsteps on a weekly or bi-weekly basis beginning May 18th.
Lee & Maria’s Delivery was first launched three years ago, and since then has already gathered over 375 subscribers in Windsor-Essex and is now expanding east.
“We already drive to Chatham-Kent to purchase berries, sweet potatoes, apples, and peaches weekly,” said Co-Owner Kathy Mastronardi. “It just makes sense that we deliver some of the great locally grown fruits and vegetables while we’re there.”
People can subscribe to four different bin sizes on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis. They range in price from $28 to $48. Options like extra fruit and local eggs can also be added. The entire sign-up process is handled through Leeandmarias.com.
“We know not everyone loves every fruit and vegetable, which is why we allow people to tell us items they don’t want in their bins during the sign-up process. That way our customers will only receive items they enjoy.”
Lee & Maria’s grows a large portion of the fruits and vegetables on its 30 acre Kingsville farm. The rest is sourced from farmers in Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. It also operates a large roadside market at 692 Seacliff Drive in Kingsville.
