The foot of Ouellette Avenue as seen on Google Streetview
City Council have given approval to install a large Canadian flag pole at the foot of Ouellette Avenue in Dieppe Gardens.
The pole will be 150 feet tall and will hold a flag that is 60′ x 30′, and will include night lighting.
The project will be funded by donations from the public. The project will cost approximately $300,000, with $100,000 of that used to establish a maintenance trust fund.
Tax-deductible donations can be made through the WindsorEssex Community Foundation website.
The city will contribute around $25,000 for landscaping around the flag pole.
