The Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program is looking for some good butts.
The “Build a Butt” contest is aimed at raising awareness about colorectal cancer and screening.
Using your imagination and creativity, you can “build a butt” out of any material, such as snow, clay, cake, etc. Then take a photo, and add a compelling story related to the impact of cancer or the importance of screening, and send them to [email protected], or post to the ‘Build A Butt Contest’ Facebook page.
“Colorectal cancer is a very serious health issue, especially when no one talks about their backsides, bottoms, butts – whatever you want to call it,” says Dr. John Day, the Regional Primary Care Lead for the Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program. “We’re using this fun and creative way to increase awareness around cancer screening across our region. There will be three award winners, but by increasing participation in screening, everyone is a winner.”
Three $500 gift cards will be awarded for the best butt in the following categories:
- Most Facebook Likes on the ‘Build a Butt Contest’ Page
- Most Compelling Story
- Most Creative Butt
“We are grateful to the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program for creating this innovative contest last year” states Neelu Sehgal, Manager Prevention & Screening Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program. “Because of its tremendous success, they have agreed to have us partner with them this year.”
The contest deadline for submissions is March 19th, 2015.
Contest details can be found online here.
