The walk to the neighbourhood park is about to get easier for those who attend Tecumseh Vista Academy.
Work has begun on a new granular pathway that will link the school to McAuliffe Park.
Weather permitting, the pathway will be completed before Christmas, and will give the school’s 1500 students must easier access to additional recreational facilities for soccer, baseball and tennis.
It also links the school to ECRA’s nine hectare McAuliffe Woods conservation area.
Since the school opened in 2012, buses have been used to transport students to McAuliffe Park even though it is just a few hundred metres away.
The pathway project is a partnership between the Town of Tecumseh and the Greater Essex County District School Board.
