Hundreds of guests welcomed Windsor’s new Mayor and City Councillors at the Chrysler Theatre, Monday evening.

Each Councillor was asked to take an oath of office and was congratulated by applause.

Mayor Drew Dilkens also swore an oath of office before addressing the crowed to outline his vision for the next four years.

Dilkens promised to hold the line on taxes in 2015, and lay out a 20-year plan for the city.

He also spoke about focusing on improving neighbourhoods like Walkerville and Olde Sandwich.

He noted that all city unions will be up for bargaining in the next four years and said he wants to work with CUPE, the Firefighters and others for fair contracts.
