Schentag Appointed As United Way VP

United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County has appointed Ilona Schentag as Vice President of Donor Relations and Development.

“Having spent over 30 years in the fields of donor relations and marketing, Ilona Schentag brings a wealth of experience to help steward United Way’s new and existing relationships with donors and community partners,” says United Way CEO Lorraine Goddard.

Most recently, Schentag held the position of Director of Development at the John McGivney Children’s Centre, and she is currently a Board member with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, where she chairs a committee focusing on young philanthropists.

“I’m very pleased to be here,” says Schentag. “My philosophy has always been about working together – it’s about partnerships, the generosity of donors, and building on the strengths in the community to help individuals and families in need. I hope to continue that collaborative approach in my new role at United Way.”

“United Way is focused on critical needs in this community. I hope I can help bring awareness to the enormity of that need, and support those who are experts in delivering the programs and who are changing people’s lives every day,” Schentag added.

United Way kicks off its fundraising activities on October 2nd in the City and October 7th in the County.
