Aquatic Centre Needs Volunteers To Help With Swimming Events

The City of Windsor is looking for volunteers to assist with four major swimming and diving events to the Windsor International Aquatic Training Centre during the month of May.

Dive Ontario, Dive Canada, Ontario Synchronized Swimming and the Windsor Aquatic Club are looking for interested, responsible volunteers to assist with event related duties that include hospitality, registration, food services, ceremonies, timers and deck crew with set-up and tear down.

Volunteers will be asked to commit to a minimum 4-hour shift or more during the events. Accreditation and training will be offered to participating volunteers.

Here is a look at the May event schedule”

• May 9th to 11th: Dive Ontario 2014 Summer Provincial Championship
• May 16th to 19th: Canadian Masters Swimming Championship
• May 21st to 25th: 2014 Ontario Open Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships
• May 30th to June 1st: 2014 FINA Diving World Series

To register, you can call 311 or visit www.311online.ca, a tab entitled Request a City Service will appear; click on volunteer registration and the form and event line-up will appear. Just fill in the form and click submit. All registered volunteers will be contacted by the official host organization regarding event schedule and on-site training.
