Chrysler’s Windsor Assembly Plant has received prestigious recognition for manufacturing making it the company’s first in North America to do so, Unifor officials said Friday.
The Windsor Assembly Plant scored a 61 in a recent audit, placing it at a ‘silver’ milestone level under the company’s World Class Manufacturing program.
World Class Manufacturing, first developed by Fiat in the mid 2000’s, rates a facility’s technical and managerial proficiencies from safety to quality control among many others.
The Windsor Assembly Plant first achieved WCM’s bronze level two years ago and has been working toward higher standards ever since.
Unifor local 444 praised workers for the plant’s success on their Facebook page. “Our workers at WAP have done a tremendous amount of work in the turnaround Plan in helping make Chrysler the success it is and they are the reason we have been able to achieve this goal, through their hard work and dedication.”
