Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex Foundation is coming off of a very successful fundraising event.
The annual Bowl For Kids Sake was held in Leamington on February 22nd at Empire Lanes, and continued in Windsor at Rose Bowl Lanes on February 28th and March 1st. Together the event raised over $52,000, and well exceeds their $45,000 goal.
Over 50 local businesses and 800 bowlers came out to participate in this annual fundraiser in support of youth mentoring programs in our community.
“Bowl For Kids Sake helps raise the funds needed to provide more children in our community with a mentor. The event also creates awareness of the agency’s programs and the need for more volunteers. We believe that changing the course of these young lives can in turn change our community’s future”, stated Hayley Morgan, Foundation Executive Director (Acting) of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex Foundation.
All funds raised from this event will stay right here in Windsor and Essex County to support the 5 youth mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex. In 2013, over 550 children and youth benefitted from these vital mentoring programs.
