Spring Trees Now Available To Order From ERCA

While it is still very much winter outside, orders are now being accepted for spring trees by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.

Landowners who wish to order trees for this spring are also able to do so. The cost of seedling trees begins at 69 cents, while prices for large stock trees begin at $13. A minimum purchase of 100 seedlings or 15 large stock trees is required.

“Planting trees on your property not only helps the environment, but can improve property values, reduce heating and cooling costs and improve the aesthetics of your land,” says Paul Giroux, ERCA Forester. “As well, landowners who plant or already have 10 acres of forest may be eligible to receive a reduction in their land taxes through the Province’s Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTP). This is a great program that not only encourages landowners to manage their natural areas sustainably, but also rewards forest owners with a reduction in their land taxes.”
