Workers at a downtown office building were forced to temporarily evacuate after a small fire in a vent sent smoke rising from ground level.
Firefighters were called around 4pm to 250 Windsor Avenue after witnesses say flames were shooting from grating near University Avenue East.
The building’s alarms were going off and staff began to exit the building.
Firefighters found rubbish burning inside the below-ground vent and quickly extinguished it.
There were no injuries and the cause of the rubbish fire is unknown.
