The City of Windsor says that their plough crews have been kept busy with today’s snowfall.
They report that road crews have been out since 9pm Tuesday evening working on main routes, and with accumulation expected to continue to mid morning Thursday, crews will remain out on main routes and residential roads will not see any snow ploughs.
Once the storm has ended the city will decide on the treatment of residential roads, depending on final accumulation. Secondary and residential streets are not ploughed and salted unless the City has received a snowfall in excess of 4 inches.
The city is also reminding residents to keep sidewalks as clear as possible. The sidewalk clearing bylaw will come in to effect once the storm has ended. Under the bylaw, owners and/or tenants are required to remove snow or ice in front of their property within 12 hour, while owners or tenants of commercial properties have four hours following the snowfall or formation of ice.
