After a year off, the Fahrenheit Festival of Fire Sculpture returned Saturday night at the Vollmer Recreation Center in LaSalle.
The Fahrenheit Festival, which is Canada’s only Fire Sculpting festival, saw skilled fire artists using clever “tricks of the trade” to control and shape the fire, to choke oxygen in order to control tempo and pace, and to manipulate the burn pattern so that the fire sculpture doesn’t resemble, or burn, like a bonfire.
Sculptors included Denis Bolohan from Cookstown, Steve Daigle & Matthew Romain from Windsor, Dave Hanna from Windsor, qpaukl a. kimmerly from rEvolution gallery in Kingsville, Neda Laketic Soc from Windsor, Susan Qu from Mississauga, Nadia Trudel from Montreal, David Yu from Toronto and Professor Rod Strickland’s sculpture class from the University of Windsor.
