With the summer swimming season kicking into high gear, windsoriteDOTca will once again be proving weekly beach reports every Friday all summer long. We will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.

This weekend results indicate that bacteria counts at Sandpoint, Lakeside, Cedar Island, and Cedar beaches are posted and swimming is not recommended as counts exceed 100cfu/ml.

West Belle River beach is closed as counts exceed acceptable levels.

Water samples are taken every Wednesday. This is an all-day event, as there are tenbeaches to test. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
