Tanker Flips In Kingsville

Just after 9am Saturday morning, a tanker was carrying 28% liquid fertilizer was travelling southbound on Essex County Road 27 around a curve in the road when the liquid load of the tanker shifted, causing it to strike a hydro pole and rollover into the ditch.

The liquid fertilizer spilled into the surrounding ditch but has been contained to approximately 10 metres on either side of the tanker.

OPP report that the lone occupant of the tanker truck sustained non-life threatening injuries and has been taken to Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital for treatment. The truck sustained extensive damage.

Essex County Road 27 from Highway 3 to the McCain Sideroad is closed and will remain closed until mid afternoon while cleanup takes place.

The investigation continues.
