With spring weather slowly creeping in, homeowners across Windsor are starting to think about cleaning their yards and gardens. The City of Windsor is ready to lend a hand with their bi-weekly spring yard waste collection beginning April 9th and continuing to the end of May.
Residents are asked to place yard waste in acceptable containers such as paper yard waste bags, garbage cans, cardboard boxes or roll-out carts. Yard waste that is improperly prepared, such as in plastic bags, will not be picked up.
The City asks that you make sure to bundle branches securely in 4-foot lengths that are no larger than 3 feet in diameter. They say that bundles should not exceed 50 lbs, and ask you not to use wire to tie bundles. Thorny branches should be placed in boxes, pails or yard waste bags. Please make sure yard waste is at the curb prior to 6am on your scheduled yard waste collection day.
