Windsor-Essex EMS will be getting six new ambulances this year, replacing older units.
Windsor-Essex EMS maintains a fleet of 36 ambulances, which are replaced on a seven year lifecycle replacement strategy. The 2013 City of Windsor Capital budget includes provisions for the purchase of six at a total cost of $894,602.
In addition to the 36 front line ambulances, the EMS also maintains 12 Emergency Response Vehicles, 1 Logistics Vehicle, 1 Administration Vehicle, a Special Operations Trailer, a Hazmat Trailer and an Off-Road Transport Vehicle.
