Your Kids Will Have Lots To Do During March Break With These Day Camps

The City of Windsor’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering full-day fun clubs for March break.

Eight centres offer youth camps: Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex, Constable John Atkinson Memorial, Forest Glade, Gino & Liz Marcus, Oakwood, Optimist Community Centre, Windsor Water World and WFCU Centre. Four of the centres: Forest Glade, Gino & Liz Marcus, Oakwood and Optimist Community Centres offer Busy Bodies Camps for children 3 to 5 years old.

Day camps from $133 per week feature sports, crafts, arts, movies, music and more. Opening at 7:30am and closing at 5:30pm, Parks & Recreation day camps offer lots of vacation action for kids from 3 to 13. Register at the centre of your choice. You can also register by the day for $29 per person. Each camp features different activities each day.

Daily recreation and pre-school swims are offered at Adie Knox Herman Pool and Windsor Water World. The March Break Kick-Off Swim occurs on Saturday March 10th from 1:30pm to 3pm at Adie Knox Herman Pool. Recreational swim on Thursday, March 14 from 1:30 pm – 3 pm at Adie Knox Herman is sponsored by Forest Glade Optimist Club.

Learn to Babysit: a morning program for youth from 12 to 16 is offered at Constable John Atkinson Memorial Community Centre, Oakwood Community Centre. Late risers can sign up at WFCU Centre for the afternoon program. Cost is $46 per person. For specific days and times visit www.reconnectwindsor.ca.

Wildlife Discovery for budding naturalists is offered at Ojibway Nature Centre on Thursday March 14th and Friday March 15th for $34. The program runs from 9am to 4pm and explores how plants and animals survive in the wild.

Knight School of Boys and Girls is offered at Mackenzie Hall from Tuesday March 12th to Friday March 15th at a cost of $136 per person. The course runs from 10am to 5pm.

Frogs Snakes and You is a morning or afternoon, one day program for 4 to 6 year olds at Ojibway Nature Centre. Cost is only $16 for two-hour program.

Forest Glade Arena will offer public skating Monday March 11th from 11:30am to 1:20pm and Friday March 15th from 7:30pm to 9:20pm.

Open House at Ojibway Nature Centre on Monday March 11th from 1pm to 3pm. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts and a creature feature for free.

Windsor’s Community Museum offers a Military March Break on Saturday March 9th, Tuesday March 12th through Saturday March 16th from 10am to 5pm and it is free.
