The OPP is sending out a huge thanks to the community after raising thousands of dollars to send kids to camp.
This past Thursday, approximately sixty officers and civilians from the Essex County OPP, as well as members of OPP county policing committees, packed groceries at Zehrs’ grocery stores in Kingsville and Tecumseh, as well as at the Real Canadian Superstore in Leamington and Foodland in Essex.
All donations received go directly to the Annual Essex County OPP Cop Camp, where ninety grade six students from OPP policed municipalities in Essex County attend for a week of fun, leadership and friendship.
This year a total of $20,700 was collected to go towards the camps.
