Windsor firefighters have rescued two dogs and several snakes from a house that caught fire on Carissa Avenue in the east end.
Fire broke out around 10:30pm Saturday evening and arriving crews found heavy smoke in the house’s basement.
Firefighters rescued two dogs in a cage in the house and discovered several snakes on the second floor of the home.
The Windsor-Essex Humane Society has been called to assist with the pets.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire and Windsor Fire & Rescue officials say no injuries are reported.
Fire officials report that the cause cannot be determined. Damage estimate is $110,000.
